December 2010 at Molly’s Cafe

Well, this year has certainly passed quickly! Molly’s Cafe will end it with some interesting activities, as usual.

mmm, fondue

 

Fri. Dec. 3   7:30pm   Swiss fondue dinner. Fondue, salad, dessert, all for 30 lira. Drinks extra. Reservations please.

 

 

 

 

 

Sat. Dec. 4   4:30pm   Michael Kuser book talk. Michael will talk about his new book, Three Way Mirror, stories set in Istanbul, Athens, and Rome. I am currently reading it and highly recommend it. Michael will have copies for sale.

 

 

 

 

 

Sat. Dec. 4   9:00 to 11:00 pm   Sandi Pugliese will play play guitar and sing covers and a few originals, mostly folk, soft rock, and bluesy music.

 

 

 

 

Sat. Dec. 11   4:30pm   Hugh Pope book talk. Hugh will talk about his new book, Dining with Al Qaeda. Hugh is a well known journalist who has lived in Istanbul for years. He previously wrote A Modern History of Turkey (with Nicole Pope) and Sons of the Conquerors. This should be a very interesting talk, so don’t miss it!

 

 

 

 

Sat. Dec. 11   9:00 to 11:00 pm   Asena Akan will sing mellow jazz. Come for an enjoyable evening.

 

 

 


Sat. Dec. 18   4:30pm   Poetry reading by Robert College writers. Be sure to stop by for their new poetry.

 

 

 

 

Sat. Dec. 18   9:00 to 11:00 pm    Martin Anthony will tell stories and sing for us. This will be very entertaining, so don’t miss it!

 

 


Fri. Dec. 24   7:30 to 10:00 Stop by for eggnog and Christmas cookies on Christmas Eve.

 

 

 

 

Sat. Dec. 25   7:30pm    Christmas dinner. This family style dinner includes turkey, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, vegies, salad, pumpkin pie, apple pie, mince pie. 70 lira, drinks included. Reservations are required, as space is limited.

 

 

 

 

Fri. Dec. 31   8:00pm to 1am   Mellow New Year’s Eve. We will provide the food and you will buy the drinks. You can dress up if you want :). It will be a relaxed and mellow evening to finish off the year and start the new one. At midnight we will go up to Galata Square for the magic moment.
