February 2011 at Molly’s Café

Molly’s Café’s events are getting fuller and fuller! I am excited about what February is bringing. Read on and stop by for some or all of these events!

Sat. Feb. 5    9 to 11pm At last Bilal Karaman has found time to play at Molly’s Café! Come to hear this master jazz and world music guitarist. 10 lira for the music.







Sat. Feb. 12   9 to 11pm  Yalcin Erturk playing saz and singing Turkish original and traditional music. 10 lira for the music.





Mon. Feb. 14 7:30pm    For Valentine’s Day–  Death by Chocolate Dinner: chicken mole, tomato salad, vegetable, Spanish rice, selection of chocolate desserts, 50 lira, reservations only.  Come with or without a sweetheart!





Sat. Feb. 19   4:30pm  Poetry reading  Derick Mattern and friends




Sat. Feb. 19   9 to 11pm   Ben Weeks playing and singing Frank Sinatra and other oldies. 10 lira for the music.

Sat. Feb. 26   4:30 pm   Reading: Featured writers in this month’sTimeOut: IstanbulDonny Smith and Ersan Üldes, will read from Smith’s newly released translation of Cemal Sureya and Üldes’s work in Best European Fiction 2011.






Sat. Feb. 26   9 to 11pm    Serhat Talay and friends playing saxophone, accordion, guitar. 10 lira for the music.
