May 2011 at molly’s cafe

Molly’s Cafe is still going strong in May!  See you at some or all of these events.

Fri. May 6    7:30 pm  Maghreb couscous and salad by Fred. 30 lira, reservation only. Drinks and a selection of desserts will also be available

Sat. May 7   4:30 pm   Meghan Nuttall Sayres will talk about the books she has written, including Anahita’s Woven Riddle. Come and hear this award-winning writer.

Sun. May 8  10:00 am to 2:00 pm  Celebrate Mother’s Day with a nice brunch including coffee cakes, quiche, scrambled eggs, fruit, cheese. 30 lira, including coffee or tea

Sat. May 14   9 to 11 pm   Cam Neufeld is in town from Canada and is going to make our toes tap with his great fiddling. If you missed him last year, be sure to take the opportunity this time! 10 lira for the music.

Fri. May 20   7:30pm   Ranit will cook Sri Lankan curry for us. Yum! It has been a while, so come and support him and have a great meal of chicken curry, salad, and dessert. All for 30 lira.

Sat. May 21   9 to 11 pm. Master jazz guitarist Bilal Karaman is playing once again in the intimacy of Molly’s Cafe. Don’t miss this great experience. 10 lira for the music.

Sat. May 28   4:30 pm The Robert College group of poets will be reading for the last time before the summer. Their theme this time will be L’Atalante. so come see what they have to offer.

Sat. May 28   9 to 11 pm   Djoumbush is providing another lively evening of experimental makams for music lovers. 10 lira for the music.
